Blog Post 2: Philemon’s New Toilet!

We have continued improving access to sanitation infrastructure in Tanzania. For this project, we supported Philemon Philipo and his family of seven.

Philemon struggles with diabetes, which unfortunately lead to the amputation of his leg. Not only was his previous toilet unsanitary and made from scraps of other construction materials, it was a squat toilet, which made it very difficult for him to use.

Now, Philemon’s family has a new toilet, as well as a hand washing station! This toilet has the added bonus of a “western” style seat, so that Philemon can take care of business independently.
